AFME-BRC-ENG-001 Engineering Department Food Safety & BRCGS Compliance Policy

A practical engineering compliance toolkit designed for food manufacturing sites operating within a BRCGS Food Safety Issue 9 environment. The pack provides engineering teams with structured, usable controls for maintenance, temporary repairs, hygienic design, contractor management, utilities, calibration, projects, building fabric and audit readiness. It is intended to help engineering departments demonstrate consistent food-safety controls and provide documented evidence of engineering activities.

Category: Food Safety & Compliance Type: Guide Discipline: Food Safety & Compliance, Food Safety Engineering, Health & Safety, Maintenance, Maintenance & Reliability Format: PDF

What is included

AFME-BRC-ENG-001 Generic Engineering Food Safety & BRCGS Compliance Policy, supported by 12 editable engineering templates (F01–F12): Post-Maintenance Clearance & Release; Temporary Repair Register; Food-Safety Risk & Asset Criticality Assessment; Workshop & Stores Audit; Contractor Food-Safety Assessment; Engineering Change Control; CAPEX / Equipment Hygienic Design Review; Project Commissioning & Food-Safety Handover; Utilities Risk Assessment; Building-Fabric Inspection; Calibration Compliance Register; and Engineering BRCGS Readiness Audit Checklist. The pack also includes the AFME Engineering Food Safety & Compliance Flowchart and implementation guidance.

Who this resource is for

Engineering Managers, Heads of Engineering, Engineering Controllers, Maintenance Managers, Reliability Engineers, Project Engineers, Engineering Supervisors, Engineering Planners and site engineers working within food manufacturing. The toolkit can also support Technical, Food Safety, Hygiene, Operations and Project teams where responsibilities interface with engineering.

How to use this resource

Download and review the complete toolkit before implementation. The documents are generic templates and should be adapted to the individual site's equipment, processes, HACCP plan, hygiene zoning, risk assessments, responsibilities and document-control system. Assign local document numbers, owners, approval authorities, review periods and record-retention requirements. Relevant personnel should be trained before the forms are introduced. The toolkit should be used alongside the site's official current BRCGS Global Standard Food Safety Issue 9 documentation, applicable Position Statements, legislation, customer requirements and site procedures. AFME templates do not replace the official BRCGS Standard or site-specific risk assessment.
