AFME-FSC-03 Temporary Repair Register and Tag
Control temporary engineering repairs so they are risk-assessed, visible, inspected and permanently fixed before they become a food-safety or audit finding. Temporary repairs keep production running, but uncontrolled ones become permanent and are a common audit finding. This pack provides a simple procedure, a register and a printable tag so every temporary repair is assessed, labelled on the equipment, checked each shift and closed with a permanent fix. Which to use: this is the quick, stand-alone version. Sites running the full BRCGS engineering system should use form F02 Temporary Repair Register in the AFME-BRC-ENG-001 toolkit.

How to use this resource
1. Before making a temporary repair, check the do's and don'ts in section 1.
2. Record the repair in the register (section 2) and attach a completed tag (section 3) to the equipment.
3. Check every open repair at least once per shift and record the check.
4. Review the register at the weekly engineering meeting; escalate anything past its target date.
5. When the permanent fix is complete, remove the tag, complete the close-out and do a hygiene clearance.
