AFME MAI-02 Calibration & Measurement Assurance Pack

A complete calibration and measurement assurance system for food manufacturing. It tests whether your measuring, monitoring, testing and inspection equipment can be trusted for the decisions being made, and whether a failed measurement triggers the right product, process or safety assessment. Which to use: this is the full calibration system. For a quick register of critical devices only, use FSC-06 Critical Calibration Register.

Category: Maintenance & Reliability Type: Audit Discipline: Automation & Controls, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Management, Food Safety & Compliance, Maintenance & Reliability Format: PDF + Excel

What is included

- AFME-MAI02-POL-001 Calibration and Measurement Engineering Policy (PDF) - AFME-MAI02-TOOL-001 Calibration and Measurement Assurance Audit Tool (editable Excel): 308 audit questions in 34 sections, dashboard, instrument register with overdue highlighting, out-of-tolerance impact assessment, CAPA register and maturity assessment - AFME-MAI02-GDE-001 Engineer's Guide to Calibration and Measurement Auditing (PDF), with four worked examples - Covers cookers, ovens and chillers, probes, CCP instruments, metal detectors, X-ray, checkweighers, scales, process instruments, refrigeration and HVAC, data loggers, test equipment, reference weights and test pieces

Who this resource is for

Heads of Engineering, engineering managers, maintenance managers, calibration coordinators, controls and automation engineers, reliability and utilities engineers, technical and food safety managers, internal auditors and competent engineering contractors.

How to use this resource

1. Build or check the instrument register first and classify each instrument C1, C2 or C3 by consequence. 2. Audit the whole measurement chain, not just certificates: requirement, tolerance, method, reference, traceability, result and failure response. 3. Use the out-of-tolerance impact assessment whenever a failed instrument could have affected product, process decisions or safety tests. 4. Track findings in the CAPA register to verified closure. 5. Start with a small sample of critical instruments.
